Secret of Constant Progress and Innovation
Today the Workers’ Party of Korea has greeted a new era of building the ruling Party under the wise leadership of its General Secretary Kim Jong Un, enjoying a high international reputation as a party with growing vitality.
It is not so long after he took the helm of the WPK, but the Party has not only made significant progress in its development but launched a gigantic struggle for achieving comprehensive development and prosperity of the state, consecutively bringing about eye-opening events unprecedented in the history of the country.
To know about the secret of this, it is necessary to take note of the commemorative lecture given by Kim Jong Un when he visited the Central Cadres Training School of the WPK, the highest institute of training Party cadres, in October 2022.
In his lecture titled On the Orientation of the Building of Our Party in the New Era and the Tasks of the Central Cadres Training School of the Workers’ Party of Korea, he said: The last ten years of struggle for the strengthening of the Party was the most crucial and decisive decade for the existence and future of our Party. The remarkable progress and development in the past decade is by no means a result of the times. The successes achieved by the Party in its building and work over the past decade are three major ones: firstly, it has firmly defended and inherited the monolithic ideology and leadership; secondly, it has remarkably enhanced its leadership function and role; and thirdly, it has further strengthened its revolutionary character of serving the people.
What is more noteworthy is that he clarified the Party building orientation in the new era, a line characterized by political, organizational and ideological construction and discipline and work style building, which will help the Party carry forward its leadership history of nearly 80 years to 100 years or more. This marked a milestone in making the WPK lead the development of the country, full of vigour and vitality as a leading political organization in the Korean society.
Today according to this new five-point Party building orientation the WPK is developing into a party with more powerful capability and bright future, while stepping up the drive for comprehensive development of socialism through the construction of 50 000 flats in the capital city of Pyongyang and rural houses in different parts of the country and the implementation of the Regional Development 20×10 Policy among others.
The WPK with the longest ruling history of socialism will continue to demonstrate its dignity and might as an ever-victorious party.
